Aljazeera just printed it, if you look below the article, it says: 'The views expressed in this article are the author's own and do not necessarily reflect Al Jazeera's editorial stance.'
Aljazeera prints articles few other News outlets would touch.
Elex, the author is not from Qatar, she is Haitian American and lives in Berlin, Germany, got her PhD at Princeton University. I see mostly true history though, she didn't make any of it up, even if sounds unpopular.
That's what you get when you take people out of their familiar environment that will stick with them for many generations and try to conform them to a different more advanced culture.
Europeans are going to be faced with the same problem, having absorbed millions of mostly uneducated and undisciplined, women and dog hating middle Easterners and of a fanatic, murderous religion to boot.
That is why the world consists of different countries where people of the same culture get along peacefully.
The formation of countries like Yugoslavia, Czechoslovakia and Syria enforced by Western powers after the world-wars has resulted in nothing but bloodshed.
Fact they dont have dogs barking, sh1tting all over the place and biting people (me) is one of the few redeeming features of the Arab culture. elex, your missing the bigger point, thats owners or lack there of, not taking responsibility for their dogs and pets, its not the pets fault.

Never said it was. But the end results are te same. Wasnt my greatest assignment being posted in KSA, but at least didnt have the dog issues. In Calgary, before I went to Saudi, I used to have some A$$hole walking his dog and purposely letting it sh1t in my back driveway, until I told him in no uncertain terms to stop it. Quite funny, usually Expats avoided pets in Saudi, because of the hassle, but when Expats who did would take a dog out of the compound and into the cities like Khobar or Damman, all the Arab kids would be be so amused and would be laughing and immitating dog barking sounds ..for them it was really interesting..something they rarely saw.

Maybe Trump should concentrate on getting scientists to do research on a vaccine, manufacturing testing facilities and PPE, and a testing and containment plan, sane logical sequence to get people back to work, instead of playing the blame game, pointing fingers, politics and worrying about the next election. Pointing fingers can happen when this is all over BTW..this applies to everyone, including the other side- the Democrats, Media and Foreign press, government and individuals as well.. Now is not the time to waste energy on the "Blame Game"..plenty of time in a year or 2

I really don’t think it will last that long but if they are going to keep it locked down until a vaccine is available it very well may. Why do they expect to be locked down as the rest of the world prepares to open?

This is going to be very tough on the Colombian way of life but the 18 month bar and concert ban is in line with what other countries are saying. And it will be very easy to enforce. The police already did regular cedula checks in discos.

BC is only in semi-lockdown right now, and it looks like more will open next month: www.cbc.ca/news/canada/british-columbia/covid19-restrictions-bc-1.5535716All the folks in my neighborhood make a right racket with pots and pans at 7pm every evening to cheer on the doctors and nurses. Nothing wrong with that, but little do they know the hospitals have never been quieter.

A Muslim complaining about the 'Far Right' treating them badly in the UK.
It has got to be the Far Right, a regular citizen just loves them and overlooks a few rapes here and there?
Don't they have the wide open spaces with lots of goats and camels and 72 virgins waiting for every martyr to go back to? Who is stopping them? www.aljazeera.com/indepth/opinion/uk-minorities-200416144414720.html

China coming clean (or are they?)
Translated from German news agency Bild:
17.04.2020 It was the epicenter of the corona virus: the virus broke out in the Chinese metropolis of Wuhan in December 2019 and spread around the world. But compared to other countries, the numbers of infected and deceased were rather low there. Now the health authorities have corrected the death rate by around 51 percent! According to this, a further 1290 people died of the lung disease Covid-19. According to official figures, the total number of deaths in Wuhan increases to 3896. So far, only 2579 deaths have been reported. This new information confirms long-held assumptions that many cases were not included in the official Chinese statistics. As the local government of Hubei announced on Tuesday, people have been allowed to leave Hubei Province since midnight. With this correction, the number of deaths across China would also have to increase, which is currently at 3,342. Several reasons were given for the correction: ► People had died at home first. ► Hospital workers and doctors were overwhelmed with the situation and the rush of infected people, "which led to late, missing and incorrect reports," writes the official Xinhua news agency. ► Some medical facilities were not connected to the information network or did not report promptly. ► In addition, reports of some deceased would not have been complete.
Life returns to the Chinese city of Wuhan, from where the coronavirus spread around the world. But now the authorities have revised the available data and thus got a complete picture, it is said. The situation in the country is currently under control. There would have been 26 new infections on Friday, including 15 positive ones that had recently entered the country. According to health authorities, more than 82,000 people in China have contracted the corona virus, 78,000 of whom have already recovered.

LOL By adding 50% to the death count its still a joke if you look at other countries. Outside of a handful of major cities the medical facilities are still 3rs world and woefully ill equipped to handle the seriously sick from this. 82,000 infected is laughable when you look at the size and population density compared to the US. Its nothing but pure propaganda trying to dupe people into thinking there coming clean. Why would anyone think they did better than most other countries fighting this when in the beginning the denied and ignored the situation for so long letting if get a good foothold in the country. If anything because they were the first country and were not sure what to expect and the fact they downplayed if for so long it would stand to reason they would be one of the worst in health metrics.
