Colombia Jake was arrested a few days ago for pimping girls. Another one bites the dust.

Anything in the news? Spanish or English language - I haven't seen anything.
You would think this would be covered considering a gringo arrest and Medellín is cracking down...

My understanding is being a prepago is legal but being a pimp is not. Inside a Colombian jail is not a place a gringo wants to end up. I have no idea who this person is, but hopefully will throw the book at him and use him as an example to scare off others.

I take it being a Colombian pimp is legal? Because there are 100 Colombian pimps for every gringo pimp, any of those being arrested?

And until there is soid evidence, it is just rumours. Just like when I came out and said so and so was dead a few times for different personas and it came back and bit me. Teeo, where is your proof? We need links, news stories, not hearsay. Beyond that it is just wishful thinking on everyone's part

I agree with "throw the book at him and use him as an example to scare off others". But strange to me there is no news about this to be found - English or Spanish language - as this would be newsworthy. So no way to know if this is true.

Perhaps he was pimping underage (18) girls. Heard it was a COL/USA joint operation. If so he will probably be deported and extradited to the USA.

Beyond that it is just wishful thinking on everyone's part I can't give a link to a news report because there aren't any (yet),I did not know that was a requirement on this forum. I have a close personal friend that lives in the tower where he lived and watched the authorities break his door down and take his computers out of his apartment. And yes there were a couple of men that looked like that they were from a U.S. authority. Jake was arrested on his moto in Poblado. If anybody does not believe me I could give two flying fricks.

@tee09111 I did not know that was a requirement on this forum.
Its only required to add the link if you copy an article. Its a copyright requirment and you have to give credit of where it came from. Its required by all forums. But not needed if your just passing out info in your own words or making comments on news.

Maybe a news blackout while they examine his computer and interview him for co-defendant information. If they issue a press release now the other suspects will flee before they can be picked up.

Nothing like having a website describing all the services you offer - don't have to read in between any lines. I especially liked the testimonials - " You really feel like a man–The Man–when a hot Paisa is all over you and laugh and kiss you in public."
Haha - feeling like "The Man" - dude your billfold is the man -
Very very sad, a website for gringos who have to pay to meet women in Medellin - I understand - its geared to loser older guys trying to relive their younger days - or fantasized they had - dating hot young chicas.
- if he was dealing with underage girls - I hope they extradite him back to the States where the penalties are much harsher -

Think the penalties in a Colombian prison aren't harsh - how about remains of at least 100 may have been tossed into sewers under a Colombian prison: edition.cnn.com/2016/02/18/americas/colombia-prison-bodies/A gringo pimp of young Colombians probably wouldn't want to go to a Colombian prison... If the authorities have his computers, hopefully will ensnare many others. About time the authorities took some action to make Medellín not so friendly for sex tourists. Hope they keep it up ...

So where is any reputable i.e. public news source confirmation of this rumor?

It's not a rumor as far as I'm concerned,my friend witnessed it first hand and I've known him for 20 years. ask anybody that lives in gringo towers and was home on Thursday. The Colombian version of SWAT came in numbers and broke his door down so I'm sure there are people that saw it. There are a number of good reasons for them keeping it out of the news if they are looking to take down some of his clients for example.

A couple of questions - seems this POS was operating out of his apartment - renting rooms ( by the hour?) to gringos looking to hook up with local working girls - how long did this go on? I can imagine neighbors in the tower would be up in arms about what was going on.
Obviously - this dude is in deep crap - but what about his clients - he broke the law by being a pimp - but prostitution is legal correct? So possibly his clients are off the hook, and looks like he was targeting tourists not locals for clients - I would assume if they did not catch any in the act - the rest are long gone - wonder if they used their real names to book the rooms or if there a lot of Ron Mexico's

His clients are not neccessarily off the hook. In the US, for example, it is illegal to travel overseas to have sex with someone who would be considered a minor in their state of recidence. So regardless of the legal age in Medellin, what matters is the legal age where they live.

LOL..many of his clients married or shacked up with those Putas.. who knows, maybe even some of the guys lurking on this Forum.. Jakes business has been going for years..at least 4, since I got here.. Some could say he is a marriage agency LOL.. a lot of those so called "Marriage Agencies" Like AFA use the same girls.... I know for a fact.. Buyer beware when you get involved with a women n Colombia..you dont know her previous history.. Or maybe ignorance is bliss..

Another report from an independent reliable source... who my friend talked to..
Yes Jake was busted in El Centro. Yes they did raid his apartment..and it included Federal Agents of the Department of Justice. They seized the computer, hardware, five or six hard drives, I phones. They spent 8 hours going through his apartment.
Jake is currently being held a Migraciones jail in Laureles.
Last thing he is purported to say to his room mate in his apartment is he figures "he will be in jail for a long, long time". Apparently the feds have been tracking his site on the internet for a long time,in reference to US citizens hooking up with underage girls.
He has gotten in trouble for his antics in the last building he stayed at, and had to leave, and was getting in trouble in the Gringo Towers (in spite of its reputation).

Haha - Tex Cobb - he was a heavyweight fighter in the 70's - I think he fought Larry Holmes for the title once.
The police were tracking the guy's website - should be a slam dunk - as stated above - hopefully this will scare off some of the other wanna be ex-pat pimps. I am sure there are tons more locals doing it - but gringos acting as pimps - gives all ex-pats a bad rap. -

So regardless of the legal age in Medellin, what matters is the legal age where they live. Regardless of the state where they live - if traveling overseas the Protect Act applies - see: see: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PROTECT_Act_of_2003. This law authorizes fines and/or imprisonment for up to 30 years for U.S. citizens or residents who engage in illicit sexual conduct abroad. For the purposes of this law, illicit sexual conduct is defined as commercial sex with or sexual abuse of anyone under 18, or any sex with anyone under 16.
