Why is the Colombia Peso so strong lately?? And dont give me the "US dollar is weakening " story- I checked not only against the lowly Canadian Dollar, but also EURO and Pound and the $USD has been relatively stable compared to these currencies. An dont give me the high oil price thing, because Canada produces 7 times the oil of Colombia with same population , and the US is energy self sufficient, Is it because the high interest rates maintained by the Banco De La Republica? How far can this go? You guys in Poblado and most places in Medellin, Cartagena and Bogota must be really suffering. Hope it isnt going the same way as Mexico. Friends in Cabo and Mazatlan say it is as expensive or more expenxive than Canada.
