So, once again Neiva is insisting bicyclist and motorcyclist wear the orange reflective vests.
Transit officials claiming it is for our safety and will prevent accidents.
Failure will result in a fine up to $500,000.
On the surface, I'm not opposed to it, Mrs Daluz and I wear ours while sputtering around on our moto, but you know what would protect us more? If the traffic police would actually stop and fine people driving like animals.
Typical political type response to any problem. Doing the thing with the least effort and proclaiming, "look, we're doing something!"
Okay, cranky soapbox put away...be well!

I thought it was in Bogota where some ladrones on a moto were trying to impersonate a cop with the fluorescent green vest and helmet. I guess they did it to the wrong person that he chased after him and ran him over with his Toyota 4Runner. When he got up and started to run people started to beat on him! Nothing like poetic justice!

Just read that one can buy the new dark blue/black police uniform for about $100,000. Also read they are talking about eliminating male moto passengers here in Neiva.
Excellent leadership move, punish the whole population for the actions of a few instead of just going after the bandits. I know I've said this before, but traffic enforcement would go a long way towards combatting crime and raise the money the government wants instead of sticking it to the poor folks with more taxes.
I always tell Mrs Daluz that Colombian must be resigned to living this way as they do not seem motivated to change it
Be well.
