Colombians Cheer as They Are Evacuated From Israel by Air Force Colombia’s Defense Ministry announced on Thursday, October 12, that its air force had evacuated 110 Colombian nationals from Tel Aviv amid the Israel-Hamas conflict sparked by the October 7 surprise attack. “Happiness and gratitude is what 110 Colombians feel in Tel Aviv, Israel, with the arrival of the first plane of the Colombian Air Force that will take them to Lisbon,” the defense ministry said on Facebook. This footage shows Colombian nationals posing with a Colombian flag in front of an aircraft at Ben Gurion International Airport before boarding. The South American nation joins a growing list of countries rushing to evacuate their citizens this week in response to the most deadly attack on Israel seen in a generation. us.yahoo.com/finance/news/stunning-air-conditioner-free-home-130000912.html

Curious if these folks actually reside in Israel or were tourists.
Reading about Americans stranded in Israel as well, same question for them.
I might get a bit of heat for this comment, but there sure seems to be a lot of folks who go and live someplace "better" until that place has some drama, then they flee to another place.
I get some governments are garbage and maybe not worth supporting, but at what point do folks stand up and fight, for the lack of better words?
Be well!

From what I have heard many of the Americans in Israel were duel citizens. It may well be the same for the Colombians there.

I am an old school toxic male I suppose.
I completely agree with evacuating old people, kids, and medical issues but fighting age men really need to up their game.
Why is it always someone else responsibility to ensure a safe environment?
Don't mind me, this stuff makes me cranky...be well.

The draft here was merely registration. They had no active draft board here since Vietnam, (1972?). I registered and then turned around and joined the Navy. But back to the point, some people aren't mindful enough to look at the big picture to see what could happen in their surroundings. 'Where there is smoke, there is fire' I always believed. Especially when every country surrounding you views you as the enemy! (With reference to Israel)

I sure dont feel "unsafe" in peaceful little Manizales, and from what I heard, even during the hieght of the civil and drug wars, it was also peaceful here. Have street smarts, stay up to date with local news, Keep a respectful, low profile and you are always out of trouble And I sure dont expect , of all people, Trudeau or one of his cronies to save my azz if something happens. Take care of my own destiny. If I continue to have Visa problems here, sure I can find some other peaceful place in Argentina, Mexico, even Ecuador, Bolivia, Peru (despite all the MSN huff)-if for only a few months of the year while i spend the rest in Colombia. Beats staying in my sisters basement suite in Saskatoon for 4 to 6 months of the year because I cant afford or dont want to pay $2000 a month rent, at the same time being exposed to crappy health care system, drug addicts and homeless in the streets and Woke politics.

Even If I was Jewish, I wouldnt be expatting in Israel-ever. Visiting maybe. Some countries I have visited and even lived in before before, I wouldn even visit as atourist now. Russia ; China ; Venezuela, Saudi Arabia I wouldnt go to Iran right now. In reality the people are real friendly and nice, it is the government that is screwed. I had a Canadian friend who went there as a tourist a while back. But he is Indian (Sikh) and could tell the people he was from..wherever. Dont know if he had Indian and UK passports in addition to a Canadian passport to travel on. Anyway , he said the Iranians were reall good people, and the country is beautiful. Its a real shame the government is so evil. Dont know why they are supporting the Palestinians so strongly , who are Sunnis mostly. Mostly to stir trouble, and not to help the Palestinians I think
