More than four in 10 Americans would support building a wall across the Canadian border.
That's according to a Bloomberg poll released on Thursday that shows 41 percent of Americans would favour a "brick and mortar" wall along the Canadian border.
The Canada question was follow-up to a query on a Mexican border wall: "If a wall is good for the Mexico border, it is good for the Canada border as well?"
The poll surveyed 1,001 American adults over 18 years old, and, according to Bloomberg, is accurate within 3.1 percentage points.
Bizarre as it may be, the idea of a wall along the Canadian border has some prominent supporters.
Last month, Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker raised the idea on NBC's Meet the Press, when he was still a contender for the Republican presidential nomination.
"Some people have asked us about that in New Hampshire," he said. "They raised some very legitimate concerns, including some law-enforcement folks that brought that up to me at one of our town-hall meetings about a week and a half ago. So that is a legitimate issue for us to look at."
Walker later said he didn't want to build the wall after all. Last week, amid sagging poll numbers, he dropped out of the race.
Much of the fiercest pro-wall rhetoric has come from bombastic U.S. billionaire and presidential hopeful Donald Trump, who has made a border wall with Mexico one of his major campaign promises.
Trump has said he "loves Canada" and wouldn't put a wall on the northern border if elected president.
Actor Matt Damon joked that he supports a wall to help keep the "white walkers" out.
It should be noted that the Bloomberg poll found a majority of Americans are still against building a wall along either the Mexican or Canadian borders, but the results still have Canadians talking.

Most of the 1001 ones against a wall were also the ones having little clue who George Washington was

Also they should have asked the people, "Do you know where Canada is?"
Of course they know where Mexico is because that is where they came from. jajajajajaja

Remember FJ from the vanilla forums that is how she got to Colombia. Her husband went to Canada then illegally went to the USA from there. They thought by getting married he would be ok... Not... He got deported.
It does happen illegals come into the USA from Canada, but dont need no wall the snow and cold stops them during the winter months,Hunting season takes up 3 months the rest of the time just up the Border Patrol.

At this particular time, its actually more difficult for a Colombians and a lot of Countries to get into the US than Canada.. You have to be a designated refuge, a Chinese with a whole wack of $$ to invest, or on the governments designated "skill shortage" list, which given the present condition of the Canadian economy , my guess would be Real Estate Sales Person or Public Employee. But dont worry, we{ll be back to normal and letting every Tom Dick and Harry (rather, Abdel, Priyat and Chin-Lee) in when we get a change of government in a few months..

It's not difficult at all for Colombians to get into Canada, there's a wait but that's it. The rich Colombians have no problem getting into Canada;in the past they even let Colombian refugees into the country, M19, paras and the persecuted. Canada has always been there;peacekeeping and lending a helpful hand to less fortunate. Now under the present dictator, all the good has been eroded; we are basically a puppet for the rich.

None of the four have money and neither do their families, in fact two of them are probably not going because they just couldn't survive long enough to get a job.

Dont worry, it will once again become a "Peoples Paradise" , and the masses will once again have all their free hand outs and give-aways, just like the Peoples Republic of Albertastan, who has recently found "the light". I am amazed, Gallito, you have travelled all over Colombia, and after seeing what you have seen, aren´t aware that all Canadians are the "Rich", or if they aren´t it is their own damn fault, and not by any means, the fault of the Government, no matter who is in power. By Rich, I mean rich by Colombian or other Middle Income country standards. Anyway, I should stay out of politics here. You post good travel pictures of Colombia

It's not difficult at all for Colombians to get into Canada, there's a wait but that's it. Not true at all. The vast majority are refused a visitor visa. Even if you marry a Colombian, after the mountain of paperwork is completed, you'll have to wait at least a year before your spouse is allowed into the country (if at all...). There is no fiance visa in Canada as there is with the US or the UK. I thought long and hard about moving back to England after I married my Colombian wife. Then I though "f*#k it - I'll enjoy another year of semi-single life - might be the last chance I get lol" Colombians can get into Europe far easier - they won't even need a visa by December of this year.

Disagree with you there on one point mate. The current government did a great job in removing the parental visa. New immigrants could come to Canada and then immediately sponsor their aging parents. These people were a drain on the existing health care services and hadn't even paid a penny into the system. As much as I'd love my wife's parents to join us in Canada (not that they'd come...) I am in total support of this new restriction.

Finally you speak of Alberta;which can be compared to the Texas of the north, which by the way Alberta also imports much of its minimal income jobs from Latin America. How many of these workers will qualify to stay and sponsor their families. I don't consider myself rich even by Colombian standards;rather I'm fortunate to be born Canadian. We worked hard to get to where we are;do I worry about the future, you bet! I lived in Colombia and chose to return to Canada with my new Colombian wife,it was several years back and it wasn't easy to get my wife a visa.
