I sent some money to a friend in Colombia as the dollar reached 4000 but she feels that dollar going up means some items also go up in Colombia
What do members hear from friends and relatives about this?

All that means is that your friend is gonna have to shake that moneymaker a little more.

Actually I only sent $100 for medicine for her baby and she then mentioned how prices in Colombia go up as the dollar goes up.

Its true. Our advantage is shortlived. It doesnt take long for most prices to adjust. The disadvantage for the great majority of Colombians is long lasting. I notice an inflation rate of somewhere between 30 and 50% since approx 7 months ago.......But I bought a sixpack of Becks beer at Jumbos this morning for less than 10,000 pesos.....Cant beat that!
