So funny. They go from lockdown to no test required to enter the country. But that makes it more likely I will go there next month again.

Colombia is in search of money;pandemic woes, protests, strikes, and paros...they can't afford to lose valuable tourist dollars. Who in their right mind would want to travel to Colombia given the circumstances.

Who in their right mind would want to travel to Colombia given the circumstances. Me.. LOL I am more likely to go with less restrictions. I want 3 or 4 weeks of high altitude training right before my marathon in August. Of course I will be spending most time at home recovering from hard training sessions. Outside there is basically no risk. Inside just take mild precautions like distancing. The recent leaked emails show there was really not much benefit to masks. Faucy privately, in an email acknowledged masks did little and the particles were too small to me stopped by other than hospital grade masks. The leaked emails show he at best was wrong an a whole list of things and at worst colluding with China, Drug Companies and covering his ass from indirectly funding the China lab.

"3 weeks of high altitude training" Ecuador has plenty of mountains, just head up from the coast they'll be easy to spot. As for masks, you'll be better off with a gas mask in case your training regime involves running from unruly mobs, and as well riot cops lobbing tear gas canisters at each other. I suspect the rarefied coastal air you're sucking in may be clouding your judgement, and or your Colombiana is getting homesick.😁

Not a protest anywhere near us. I ran 2 days while I was there and it was no different than when I was there 3 years ago. 9000' elevation. Vaccination wise its probably better than Ecuador. Up to just the last week or two all they had for vaccines was the Chinese one here and ist only 50 to 60% effective. I just heard they got some Pfizer vaccine but it will take months to achieve any progress from that with the current rate of vaccination here. Im certainly no worse off virus wise in Colombia than here.

gallito You must be getting soft in your old age. You were in Colombia when it was a lot worse than now safety wise. The virus is the virus. Its everywhere and no where. I have dodged it so far and not too concerned about catching it. I am not going around trying to catch it, but not going to stay home shaking in fear of it either. Immunity and health wise I am probably in the top 10% so maybe that will give me a bit more edge?

Colombia is in search of money;pandemic woes, protests, strikes, and paros...they can't afford to lose valuable tourist dollars. Who in their right mind would want to travel to Colombia given the circumstances. www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/Colombia yesrerday record 28972 new cases ( with low testing rate).and record 532 new deaths..7 day running average death rate in the 500 per day range for the last month. No PCR test to enter required.Everything wide open like the Wild West Canada 744 new cases ( with almost 3 times the testing rate)and 24 deaths yesterday with 7 day running average death rate of 34 Required- PCR test to get in the plane, arrive in Canada second,PCR test at airport,3 days in government detention facility they call a hotel..you pay for it at $2000 to $3000 for 3 days..and then if you have a negative result another 11 days in self quarantine with Nazi health officials harrassing you. AND THIS APPLIES EVEN IF YOU ARRIVE FULLY VACCINATED. Personally I prefer Colombia..you can do your own risk.management and not have a fascist communist police state breathing dow your neck. If the Colombians are too stupid to take precautions and go out in the street singing dancing and looting and burning as a protest against the government...or do any other stupid things like partying, working out in crowded gyms...eating in crowded restaurants. Its not my issue..Darwins Law..just hope they dont go whining about their Abuela croaking and wonder why.

BTW I am fully vaccinated her in Colombia with Phizer 3 week spacing..EXACTLY per manufacturers reccomendations Had to spend about 4 million.pesos on 2 trips to Medellin to do it though. When I go in through Calgary in July I am going to tell the health fascists to stick it..I dont care about Turdeaus raising the Penalty to $5000 like the azzhole son of Fidel he is, the cops arent giving tickets for violating his gulag in Calgary

You keep saying that. You AntiVaxxers will never learn Being in good physical condition doesnt guarantee squat. Its Russian Roullette. You really think you are somehow immune dont you? The leader of our hiking group in Buccaramanga got it.He was in excelent shape..50 year old.He could walk up the mountain trail almost as fast as I could run literally. We used to train 3 times a week.before his work doing a 10 km trail with 1000 m vertical in less than 2 hours..as low as 90 minutes. Last I heard he was in critical condition in the ICU. Hope he survives. My maid got it a month ago.Shes over the virus now, but she is still short of breath, breathing problems, head aches, muscle aches, weakness, no energy. She will be out of work for the next 2 months.

The son just arrived in Bogota last night. He said that he had to show his plane ticket as validation for traveling during the night. He had the J&J vaccine. I don't know why he went. His mother and I tried to talk him out of it. I guess he wants to show how he is a 'rich gringo' with his MJ and LJ $450+ Nike sneakers to all his friends. He claims he will only be there for 2 months. We will see.
