Most nations are going to be leery giving any loans, repayable or forgiven to Colombia because they know that one third or half de money disappears into nowhere.

Well you wont include the Canadian PM in that "RedPill" enlightened category. He could care less what he does with taxpayer money anyway. Corrupt bastard

I dont know about a nation wide quarantine, but when Municipalities get to 80% ICU occupancy, those municipalities will go into 100% quarantine. Or at least no one in the street unless you are working in one of the designated fields (they dont want to totally destroy the economy) Here in Santander the government is quite conservative / authoritarian, and there are all kinds of clandenstine parties going on, and I saw yesterday a group of about 50 Mountain bikers gathered together motionless, blabbing to each other, most without tapa bocas. The cops and ESMAD do nothing. ESMAD just strut around or ride around with thier robo-cop suits on doing nothing and ignoring all this. And they dont even have a BLM movement here-the cops are already "declawed" The rumor is we are going to same system as Medellin- 3 days curfew on weekend and curfew from 7 pm to 5 am every day, and only 1 day pica cedula. Caldas department, which is also very conservative, has already gone to this stage, and thier case and death rate per population is half of ours and less than one-fifths of Medellin`s. At any rate dont expect restaurants to open up, airports and internal and inter departmental (or even inter.-municipio) travel to get easier for a long time , and if there are any more "pilot"airline flights in the next couple months, it will just be for show. International flights and tourism wont be for a long , long time.

My friend said the people out and about are normal people, usually wearing masks and social distancing. Maybe visiting friends or just out walking since no stores are open.

What about going to a park in Medellin? First I am told the weekend lockdown is for all locations, then she tells me going to a park is ok with social distancing and masks.

US numbers look the way they look because we actually test. I don't for a minute believe Cuba or Venezuela on any topic. Trust me if South America had the US testing numbers they would be top 6 in cases as it is they will still have 6 of the top 10 when Colombia joins the others.

My buddie lives in a compound in Medellin with three swimming pools, basketball court etc... No one is allowed to swim. He can walk around the grounds but that's it.

The only thing that is a good statistical indicator is deaths per million and recent daily death rate per thousand , and by those numbers US has ben doing very badly for a developed nation

In la Pintada - there are no covid cases - people are in the streets and things are open but must close early - up the mountain about 30 minutes in Santa Barbara - ( where we have friends and family) there are some covid cases - and the town is locked down pretty hard - because Pintada is a main route south to Maizales people are allowed to pass through but can't stay unless a resident - I believe towns like Tamesis are still strict about getting in - there are roadblocks coming into town - if you don't live there - no entry.
I think until there is a vaccine - visiting small towns as a tourist is out - the wife and i were talking about if she could go back this year - she won't - she figures if she does and people see her in the calle - they won't be happy - they know she lives in Florida ( small town everyone knows everyone). Florida is hot zone central - we aren't even welcome in other States ( anything north of GA)

It's not the only measure that counts and trust me South America is far worse and it's getting worse every day. Colombia had another 8300 cases reported today and imagine if they actually tested or accurately reported anything

Well enjoy Australia for the next few years.. Can't risk it. I have two kids under the age of 5 😳. And? Statistically thier chances of dieing or being badly sick is less than the flu. And depending on your age and health, not much more in your case You would be surprised how your risks increase exponentially with age, weight and pre-existing conditions. Of course the MSN will come up with some rare case story of a baby with COVID that exploded in Belguim. wont tell you about the whole family that were wiped out by a drunk driver the night before though Think you have a bigger chance of being bitten and dieing from one of those red back spiders you have there , in all honesty

I don't want my kids to go through the same situation. My life insurance policy is void when I'm in Colombia at least if I get hit by a car or bitten by a deadly spider in Australia my wife and son's will get some money.

People here dismissing the Virus and the damage it does should be careful what they say not only isnt Covid 19 going away it is getting worse in many areas.
