The survey is based on knowledge in their own country, I think a better survey would be things that people in each country should know about the world in general.
One of the questions, "proportion of Muslims living in their country" give me a break, like that's important to know.
I have not "met" any Colombian who knows the name of the individuals on their currency, pretty ignorant eh?

Its important to know if they are part of a sleeper cell. The people in the USA would come in dead last when it comes to world knowledge.

Most people in California think the state capital is LA. I am surprised that the US isnt dead last on the list. And the younger they are the less they know. I would bet less than 50% of high school graduates could name the current vice president or any number civics question.

But............. I bet Colombia would come in first if they asked only questions about cell phones, play stations, and social media!
Actually some Americans are real smart, Bill Murray for instance.

Okay I know Canadas Population . About 35 million. Percentage of muslims less than 1%. Healthcare spending How many billion? Who would know that? I would say an awful damn lot for Pi$$ poor service..espescialy in a place like Alberta Home ownership per household? Would guess around 80%. Hope these are multiple choice,. Better questions would be name the capitols of all provinces, what the 3 main poolitical parties are, what are the Canadian teams in the NHL.

I have not "met" any Colombian who knows the name of the individuals on their currency, pretty ignorant eh? I read the source questions. They only used five of the questions to come up with the index: - Proportion of the population that is Muslim - Proportion of population morally opposed to gay marriage - Proportion of population morally opposed to premarital sex - Proportion of population morally opposed to abortion - Population of the country I can't say that any of these are good indicators of country knowledge, except maybe the last. There was no indication that there was any effort to get a statistical cross section of respondents in each country. I'm guessing an on-line survey, as it is clear the organization that created this didn't put a lot of money into it. It's just click-bait created by for-profit marketing company.
