So having returned to my home after spending 8 days in Medellin and Bogota, I couldn't help but notice how the Colombian media (radio), seems too be 'enamored' by Señor Trump, (hearing his name mentioned many times). The taxi drivers having me pegged for a gringo, (as evidenced by my Spanglish!), all asked me about Trump. I told them in my aforementioned ill concocted mixture of the 2 languages, later having been corrected to where I could do it completely in 'understandable' Spanish, told them how the media took Trump's desire to have everyone legal and twisted it into words of hate! I asked them if they knew what had to be done if they wanted only a tourist visa. They all were aware of the applications, fees, and interviewing involved. When I told them that the illegal immigrants wanted immunity, not paying their citizenship fees, (which I think is over $1K USD and at least a year's waiting), they had a different tune! Especially when I told them it wasn't only Latinos, but all illegal immigrants! I asked them if they were aware how Mexico treats illegal immigrants. Most knew, as said there was indeed hypocrisy between the US and Mexico when it came to the treatment of illegal immigrants!

Being a gringo here, it's only natural to be asked questions about Trump.
I'm not a political animal, but I have yet to meet one Colombian that has a favorable view of Trump, and the raves go on and on for Obama.

Yeah, I told them about Obama also. I said he is the reason the country is so divided! On another note, my ex-novia called me a racist because I told her I voted for Trump. So I posed this question to her, "So was I also a racist when I loved a woman who had much darker skin then me?" You see her father was black and her mother was 'Latino Caucasian' (lack of better words). The silence was deafening!
