According to the USA Today article linked below, Eldorado Airport in Bogota will enter into negotiations with the US Government to offer preclearance for travelers to the USA. This means that you would clear US immigration and customs in Bogota and your arrival in the USA would be as if you were arriving on a domestic flight - no immigration and customs on arrival. If it does happen, it probably won't be until 2019 or 2020. www.usatoday.com/story/travel/2016/11/04/dhs-customs-border-protection-preclearance/93284600/Note: There is not any discussion about BOG in particular in the story - it's just one on the list of airports that is going to enter negotiations with the USA. I've heard the preclearance at Toronto can be a nightmare. I've always been warned to get to YYZ three hours in advance because the lines can be so long. I've been lucky though and have never had a problem. Also, I was talking to a fellow traveler last week, and he told me that if you have Global Entry, the preclearance at Toronto is very fast.

Interesting;2020 is a long time away. I wonder when Justin will streamline the process YYZ - BOG! Well he's at it he could negotiate a new deal for Canadians to enter Colombia,it appears the 160k cop fee was in retaliation to Harper.

It's only for Canucks and Qatarians. For what it's worth, the program is not limited to US citizens. The program was recently opened to Colombian citizens. Does anybody here use the Colombian version of Global Entry? I'm curious to know if it's open to non-Colombian citizens. I haven't taken the time to look it up - I have only seen the posters at immigration at the airport and have never had a chance to read them thoroughly. I've only seen two people use it at MDE.

Hey cc? Are you still in Medellin? I just got here tongight! Unfortunately, no. The wife and I are in Arizona. I am here for a meeting of my industry. But, we just got back from visiting the Grand Canyon for the first time. I hope we can meet up next time you're here.
