Won't be easy - we have a family friend who volunteered with a group that was helping displaced people get their land back - one of the paramilitaries that took the land did not take kindly to it and have threatened to kill him and his family - he is currently seeking political refugee status in Canada.

Most displaced Colombians already living in Canada want nothing to do with Colombia;they're happy with their new country.

Colombia needs to come out with a true and realistic ruling on who is a Displaced person. If a person was kicked off of their land that they held title to they would be displaced, but not their grandkids and great grandkids. When a person loses their job on a farm it does not make them displaced. At this time it is to easy for a person to say they are displaced with no back up and be filed as displaced.
I have run across some displaced in some dealings, they was more con artists. I have been burnt trying to help some displaced it will not happen again.
