Sorry these guys cannot be correct as the "Experts" from the Colombian Connections forum have declared that the sky is falling.

Sorry these guys cannot be correct as the "Experts" from the Colombian Connections forum have declared that the sky is falling. You'll find the people you are derogatorily calling "experts" are people who live here, have invested here and after years of hard earned experience have an opinion just like those that have never set foot in the country. I'd be more worried about an organisation that claims Brazil is a "turnaround story" If by turnaround you mean electing corrupt politicians to drive the country into more poverty than it already has then you can keep it.

Wasn't meant to be derogatory, but thanks for the heads up. I have some high level contacts at Franklin Templeton, I'll give them a call to let them know that SUBA said the 1.6 Billion dollar investment is a no go. Wouldn't be surprised if they pulled out immediately.

LOL about Brazil "turnaround story". It's been called that many times before but it's the same-old-story - corruption everywhere that will never change plus high cost to do business, difficult to do business, high inflation and high interest rates

While I too am optimistic about Colombia, I also recall that Goldman doubled their weighting of Colombian bonds at recommended the same to their clients in late 2014 just before the peso zoomed from about 2,000 to 3,400. But, they have to be right at some point!

I wasn't referring to myself actually, just the people you were claiming called themselves "experts" the ones you weren't talking about derogatively, before you then had a go at me. I'm over the moon you have some high level contacts btw, hope they live up to all your expectations, I wouldn't hold your breath though, that crowd will invest in the most morally corrupt regimes in the world - see who the Ukraines biggest creditors are - frankly I'm surprised anyone wants to be associated with anyone in that organisation after the fraud investigations ten years or so ago. Still, it must be nice to know high fliers - well done.
