Joaquin 'El Chapo' Guzman: World's most wanted drug lord injured in narrow escape, Mexico says.
The world's most-wanted drug boss, Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman, narrowly evaded security forces in the north-west of Mexico in recent days, sustaining injuries to his face and leg, the Mexican government says.
Citing three sources with knowledge of the operation, NBC said the marines raided the ranch in helicopters, but turned back after taking fire from Guzman's gunmen.
The marines later went in on foot and found mobile phones, medication and two-way radios. Guzman and his henchmen are believed to have fled in all-terrain vehicles, the network said.

Never, ever trust a monkey! The near capture of the powerful drug lord was made possible thanks to a monkey named “Boots”, Mexico’s El Universal reported. The monkey, named after the character from the Dora The Explorer show, basically led authorities to the are where el Chapo had been hiding. According to El Universal, Guzman’s wife Emma Coronel and his two daughters had been living near Mexico City to be close to him but had moved to Sinaloa just days before the top capo carried out his brazen escape. However in the move, the daughers left their beloved monkey behind. www.breitbart.com/texas/2015/10/24/mexico-continues-hunt-el-chapo-monkey-led-authorities-hideout/

El Chapo's drug cartel never slows...
Authorities on both sides of the U.S.-Mexico border have shut the 10th drug-smuggling tunnel to San Diego in more than a decade, a passageway Mexican authorities on Thursday attributed to the cartel of fugitive kingpin Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman.
The tunnel, originating from the Mexican border city of Tijuana, is about eight football fields in length, with the last quarter-mile crossing U.S. territory before ending beneath a carpet warehouse in the busy Otay Mesa industrial district of San Diego, U.S. and Mexican officials said.
