BMX queen Mariana Pajon wins Colombia’s 3rd Olympic gold Colombia’s Mariana Pajon won her country’s third Olympic medal on Friday, defeating her competitors in the Women’s BMX cycling category. The Medellin-born Pajon was among the favorites. She’s won steady gold at the BMX World Championships since 2010 and the 2012 Olympics in London. Great result for Mariana and a great result for Colombia. I hope now some of the poor kids in the poor barrios look at sport as a way out rather than street gangs, drugs and violence.
