Like this is news? The water and elec goes off all the time in Colombia Not in my experience in Medellín. In 6+ years I have experienced no water outages and only 2 short electric outages - one that was planned as EPM sent a letter that they were doing maintenance on a substation and the other was during a major storm.

LIM I posted in COLOMBIA.I know you MDE boys think Colombia is MDE.Just to wake you up there is a whole differant country out there. LOL, I have been many other place in Colombia and know the infrastructure may not be as reliable - for example we lost water once and electricity twice in Cartagena last time we went there for about a week, lost water in Santa Marta for several days during a week vacation trip, lost electricity in Cali for two days, and so on...

Water was out in El Oriente (the area around Rionegro) for several days last month. Apparently, a waste oil tank at the airport contaminated a creek what emptied into the water supply.

In Medellin, I've had water outages 4/5 times in the past 2 months. Now the pressure is too low to kick on the gas water heater.

medellin, power goes out a lot for short periods of time, usually once a month for few hours, the power surges does wonders on electrical equipment, Mudd my service tech here had me buy Nicomar surge protectors they have special designed ones for Refris, washers and Dryers.I was using the normal surge protectors and they would blow out I would have problems with my appliances. When these do get a surge they go off for 5 mins and come back on my problems have went away almost 100%
