The price of a barrel of WTI crude oil dropped below $40 again Tuesday, falling below that level for the first time in more than three months. The Colombian exchange rate is somewhat correlated to the price of oil... when the price of oil drops the exchange rate for the Colombian peso typically creeps up.

Had a chocolate ice cream cone in La Union ( moto trip) yesterday in the town square, 1 mil or about 33 cents, the exchange rate is great.

The exchange rate has been a blessing to most of us here. I never expected to see it back over 3,000 again. But here we are. Good time to accumulate, don't think it will last forever. 3,117 as I write this.

If Colombia would fix the tax situation I would bring in some money for my future retirement at a good rate, but i'm not going to stockpile a lot without having favorable tax rules. Its going to cost Colombia in the long run by taxing retirees.
