In Australia and many other nations around the world we have Coca-Cola, Pepsi, Big Macs and KFC. We celebrate Valentine's Day and even Halloween.........but we don't celebrate Thanksgiving.
Why?
Is it because we have nothing to give thanks for?
It's got nothing to do with us?
Or it's because nobody (yet) worked out how to make money out of Thanksgiving?
Thanksgiving Day is a national holiday celebrated primarily in Canada and the United States as a day of giving thanks for the blessing of the harvest and of the preceding year. It is celebrated on the second Monday of October in Canada and on the fourth Thursday of November in the United States. Several other places around the world observe similar celebrations. Thanksgiving has its historical roots in religious and cultural traditions and has long been celebrated in a secular manner as well.

Yes,Happy belated Canadian Thanksgiving! We Canadians celebrated our Thanksgiving yesterday;growing season was a month ahead this year and most crops ripened early...pumpkins are already picked. Canadian trappers and bears are on the lookout for each other;cougars (animal variety) have moved into the city looking for gardin fattened deer.
