Does anybody here have any experience ordering stuff from the PriceSmart website?
I'm trying to buy a mattress and everything seems to go just fine until the very last step, after I have put in all my data and then I get an unspecified error message.
Maybe it's because I'm trying to use a credit card issued in Germany (Visa - but it works for other stuff in Colombia) or it doesn't like my Cedula (the number is shorter for foreigners than for Colombians; that has tripped up Servientrega before); but it doesn't say what it doesn't like, it just says 'error'.
As a general matter, I find that here in Colombia a lot of these websites are pretty shoddy. Seems like at least 50% have a problem at some point sooner or later.

I checked the Pricesmart website out a couple of times, and just threw my hands up in the air. Yes, transactional websites in Colombia are not the most user-friendly and intuitive. I ask for Maria Auxiliadora's assistance every time I must use one. Yesterday, I tried booking a flight to the States on Avianca's website. There's been a lot of problems with it since the latest upgrade (eg. can't enter data in certain fields, webpage freeze, etc.) I went all the way through the booking process until I used my card to pay. The transaction was denied, and I called technical support. The kid spoke decent English, but kept telling me to wait "two more minutes" and apologized for the delay. In the meantime, I went to cheaptickets, found the same ticket, for the same price and was even able to select seats. I had my ticket booked on cheaptickets inside of 2 minutes... and politely hung up on the young gentleman who told me to wait for him. Colombian businesses are very risk adverse. I think because of the culture of mutual distrust, systems in Colombia are designed to fail close, and with little regard to customer service. If a transaction fails to go through, there's a good chance the customer will have an erroneous charge, and spend months trying to get it corrected.
