They need to leave it up to the FARC to reel in the rogue members. Sent there own FARC members in to get them. You can bet the leadership wants this to happen. They are the ones that will get the cushy congressional positions. Its time they get some skin in the game.

How can a country the size of Colombia, with the armed forces it has at it's disposal, plus billions of dollars of other peoples money, be unable to deal with 200 drug dealers?

The truth of the matter is that Uribe, like him, or loath him was taking the country back to a semblance of law and order. What you are seeing now is the equivalent of when Ghadaffi and Sadaam were removed from power, the void is going to be filled with the worst criminals on earth.
A number on here pointed this out before the peace talks started.

As long as there are black markets of illegal substances there will be big money to be made. The only way to eliminate the black market it to legalize it.

I am with you on this. There will never be peace as long as the gov keeps fighting it. Legalize the stuff and make money on taxes.

As noted, incorporate Farc units into the Army and send them out against ELN and rogue Farc groups.

Other FARD units have now indicated that they won't disarm, which begs the question - What exactly is the extent of the authority of these people in Havana? I'm sure the Colombian people thought their government was negotiating with people in a position of authority in which to represent the organisation.
