Here in Puerto Rico the government is planning to air spray the whole island and many are against it because you not only may kill the mosquito, but what about the needed bees, and yes, people also. If the governor approves it they will spray this Friday. I was hoping I was in Colombia then, but may be intoxicated here. yuck.

Not that many cases of Zika reported in Medellín due to the altitude. I understand mosquitoes don't fly very high and I have lived in high floors in apartment building in Medellín. I sleep with the windows open fairly often and have never seen a mosquito.
I'm heading to Cartagena late this month on vacation where Zika is much more prevalent. I plan to use insect repellents.
The author of that article should have used a spell-checker - for example "Flordia" instead of Florida and others...

A friend of my who lives in Girardota says there are no mosquitoes his way. But yes, Cartagena does have them hated flying enemies. I will soon be there in Cartegena also but will be prepared.

There are about to be a lot more problems shortly, the Olympics in Rio will spread the virus. Some athletes are refusing to stay in the Olympic village and just fly in for events. As usual no one gives a toss as long as the sponsors pay their money and the committees get their cut.
When these guys get back home then we'll see what excuses are given for spreading the virus in countries where there are no facilities to combat it - like the poor African countries.

Mosquito trap www.wikihow.com/Make-a-Plastic-Bottle-Mosquito-TrapI might add a few tips for this process 1. Heat the water and put the sugar in then let it cool to room temperature. Then throw in the yeast and put it in the trap. Overly hot water could kill the yeast. 2. Cover the trap with something like black plastic so as to keep it dark inside and yet allow the mosquitoes to enter the trap. 3. You could skip step 2. if you have some flat soda pop around but you'll still need the yeast. 4. Throw the used trap in the trash and build a new one. 5. Don't put your traps near people areas. The intended victims might make you a victim. . The only good mosquito is a dead mosquito . Don't be surprised if you find some cucarachas in your trap. Hey it's all good.

Another internet mystery. I can see the little mosquito but apparent others can't sob sob. She was flapping her wings also at the beginning but now not. Net insecticide?
