I wonder if now the Chinese overland train route through Colombia from the Gulf to he Pacific will move forward. Or is that just another pipe dream?

winsurfer I think an overland train route would be great for tourism and great for Colombia....but as you know these large scale infrastructure projects in Colombia all seem to suffer from the same cancer - corruption and theft. The larger the pie....the larger the piece that everyone wants.

What's wrong with the Panama Canal now that it has been expanded? I mean, besides the fact that Panama should still belong to Colombia.

The US eventually paid Colombia $25 million. I wonder how much that is in today's money? All in all I would rather have the money than a bunch of Panamanians.
