My friend does this here, he's French. He asked me before starting his business how he should go about things. The wine tasting clubs in Bogotá charge about 60k to sit in a nice cellar, sample a few wines and obviously you then buy a few bottles. I told him not to go above that as in Bogotá people expect two bottles of wine for 60k, not just a few spits.
Anyway, he set the price at 130k per person, that's 260k for a couple (you wouldn't go on your own) and calls me now complaining that his business isn't moving.
I went to the wine fair in Corferias last week. Every time a bottle of wine was opened for tasting it was like a flock of seagulls swooping onto a dropped ice cream. The clientele paid 10k for a big wine glass to hang around their neck and I swear they were complaining that they thought it should be permanently full with free red wine.
Exito were there, I bought 4 reds and went back home to drink them.

This Benjamin Nieto Malbec is actually ringing some bells to me. And this Chilean white Sauvignon is intriguing me.

Any sommellier will know that you are there to taste and evaluate the wine, not to drink it!

Any sommellier will know that you are there to taste and evaluate the wine, not to drink it! Doesn't work like that in Colombia, like queuing, anyone will tell you that you should wait your turn, doesn't happen here...I could list a thousand other examples.
