Colombia is providing thousands of mercenaries to UAE, not just providing advice and assistance. They recruit Colombia's "professional" soldiers and pay them way more than Colombian Army.

I spent some time with those guys during my first your in Iraq. I had some business in a small installation south of Baghdad that had military, a three letter agency and dept of state. The place was secured by Blackwater and the first time I went there the guards were contractors from El Salvador. A few months later they booted the Salvadorans and hired Colombians. Towards the end of my tour I started operating out of that installation more and moved there. The Blackwater guys said the Salvadoreans were cool but the Colombians were incredible, very gung ho and more professional. I became freinds with some of them and one night I asked what was the deal with the paracos in Colombia. The guy told me to never say that word out loud again there because many of those guys there were former paramilitary.

See my post about the Colombian Special Forces in the Colombia-vennie thread, you might find it interesting I think.
