How could somebody kill that beautiful cat. No idea;wish the cat would've got the jump on them! Yup. Jaguars are one of hardest cats to track. They are so smart that they usually double back on you and you become the prey. They must have used bait.

Not many left in the wild;to kill such a majestic cat for pure sport proves nothing.

With the photo I wouldn't think that hard to catch him. My impression was that a jaguar was a smaller cat....Well.. smaller than the picture there. It looks pretty big in that photo. Its a shame. A beautiful animal.

Before I comment here, don't shoot the messenger because of the message. Just provoking a point of view. I'm curious as to how much these jabrones, (a local term here in 'da region') paid for this kind of hunt. I'm looking at it from a local economical point of view. Case in point: My union president went to Africa, (I'm not sure which country) and shot an elephant. The short version is he paid in all total, (guide fees, licenses, porters, etc, etc) about $250,000! Everything was legal When I talked to him about it, over half of that money went towards the prevention of poaching and protecting many other species in the reserve where he was. I am in NO WAY justifying these guy's actions, so please don't flame me. But I am looking at the alternatives. Of course if the government has a bounty on them, it pretty much says they were not with in their legal boundaries.

That might work for animals not in imminent danger, where selective culling might help, but i don't think it applies to the Jaguar, which i believe is in danger of extintion.

Legal hunting should not be brought up with Poachers in any story line.

Hunting raised animals on a ranch is little more ethical as long as they have some food value. In the "wild' killing an exotic animal for sport is anther story;many factors should be studied before a cull should be permitted.

I would look into where my union dues are going, if my union president has $250,000 laying around to pay for an elephant hunt☺

You mite want to study up more on legal hunting. Ranch Hunting is mostly trophy hunting it is big money for only the best animal and the smallest amount of work for the hunter. Legal hunting in the wild is usally more for meat and has a very large unsucessfull result for the hunters.

More pointless killing of Colombian wildlife. Not long ago it was reported a Spectacled Bear was shot and a Perro de Monte (Kinkajou)was tortured and killed by some asshole caleños.

I know all about "hunting" dan I was raised in Canada;where legal hunting and fishing are way of life. The hunting ranch reference is more of a shot at American hunting ranches, where people pay to shoot raised animals not like some turkey shoots at the game club.

I went down and told him it was the last warning. The next morning they was over at my place and he was on his front porch.I grabbed the 12ga with 00 and fired 2 rounds behind them just far enough to pepper their a$$es with dirt and rocks. My neighbor seems to be taking better care of his sheep.
