Mr Morales said that he was delighted he can now walk again and is ready to change his diet.
'I want to take care of myself,' he said.
I know someone that had this done. He originally lost a lot of weight and looked great. Then over the next number of years put it all back on. Its really hard to permanently change your eating habits. Once you loose the weights its easy to go back.

Quite a few of my Colombia male friends had this done as well. I know a few Aussie mates that had it done too.
The difference was my Colombian male friends were open about the procedure. My Aussie mates wouldn't tell anyone.

Let me chime in here. Although it wasn't the balloon procedure, my ex wife had the gastric bypass, (Roux N Y). The first time they did not fully transect the stomach so she required a second one, (because the remainder had become ulcerated). But due to the surgeries, the intestine moved and caused an intussusception, causing the removal of about 3' of her bowel to be removed. She almost died due to hemorrhage. Because she shed all the weight, she required another surgery because her 'female plumbing' had fallen and needed to be 'pinned up'. So because she had all the surgeries, she developed a hernia in her abdomen and need another surgery to repair that. Through out the course of all this, she became addicted to oxycodone and usually chased them with a bottle of Red Cat wine! Also due to the rapid weight loss, the brain never tells the pancreas that the body has lost all the weight. So when something sweet is ate, the pancreas shoots out insulin for a person who weighs 300 pounds, when in all actuality, the person weighs 175 pounds. This causes the blood sugar to 'crash' to about 28 (at one point, most of the time it was 32). And as has been previously mentioned, the weight seems to return. I can hold this procedure directly responsible for the destruction of my marriage! If you know someone that is contemplating it, I will be happy to share these and other horror stories I endured over the last 8 years!

wildstubby,I can relate to your post;my mom went through the same procedure years ago, that and other health issues saw her suffer until she died.I have a cousin up here that had the new procedure done;I can bet you dollars to donuts she gained back a lot of the weight. She also fights depression. I'm overweight;one of my wife's extended family is an anesthesiologist...he works a lot of elective surgeries as well as plastic surgery. He seems to think I would benefit from this procedure;he also overweight.Colombian doctors seem quick to jump on board with these new surgical procedures;psychological issues are another obstacle.

Excuse me? I'm not 'following you around'. I'm posting on this forum with some frequency as do you, so we're bound to cross paths occasionally. I was well aware that you were talking to ozgringo, but my post is on topic concerning the thread as a whole, so I posted it. Doesn't mean ozgringo can't answer you directly if he so chooses. You're about the last person that I'll let me tell what and how to post, so stuff it.

The three guys I am thinking off all would of been no more than 80 ponds over weight. Obese, yes. Morbidly obese possibly not. All husbands of some of my wifes friends.
