For the last 5 days I have been in the US for the first time in 6 years. Its like an alien world. LOL
I have been staying in general around the Orlando area and I came back specifically to get my drivers license renewed. I dont even want to talk about Walmart... I was in a very large factory outlet and I quickly noticed that everyone that spoke fluent English's was obese and all the mildly attractive to drop dead beautiful women spoke a foreign language. There were very few exceptions.
The food here is killing everyone. The cost of living has at least doubled since I was here last. I went in a McDonalds for the first time in over a year and a regular BigMac value meal. Small fry's and small drink was $9.90
While I think its a Florida thing, you are pretty much driving on a toll road every place you go. I was probably on at least 6 to 10 toll roads every day. Traffic is horrendous.
Why haven't every retiree left the US? You can live an upper middle class life for about $2000 a month at a number of countries outside the US. Im flying back tomorrow and really I cant wait.

Yes... I am in FL as well.. and short of Pennsylvania I have never seen a bigger crop ugly obese women in my life. Probably bad food and they fact that its too damn hot most of the year to walk places.. so if your not in the gym a few times a week, its a recipe for fatness . Florida tolls are modest compared to NYC !!!!! Traffic.. all depends where you are.

A Walmart in PA cant be beat for a freak show. LOL They say 45% of Americans are obese now. You have to be active to stay in half decent shape in the US. The fast food is everywhere and what you buy in Walmart and Costco will kill you. They say 12% of Americans are diabetic, but probably much higher with the undiagnosed. The medical profession is a joke in the US now. They dont want to fat shame there patients so they will not tell them to loose weight, exercise and eat right. The drug companies want you sick so there partners in crime can load you up on the newest and greatest prescriptions. I was out 3 mornings this week at 6:00 running around a lake in Sanford. Only passed about 5 or 6 other people walking or jogging while I was out. Was literally ringing the sweat out of my clothes before the ride back to the hotel. At home I am at 8500' elevation and 65 deg when i run, so the running here at sea level is a cake walk but the heat and humidity is a killer.

Yeah, unfortunately I'm one of those 45% in PA. However this past Thursday the wife had revision surgery on her anastomosis. So me and the daughter have been spending a lot of time up at the hospital. She was a model and actress in Colombia but one of the 'dime-a-dozen' good looking women. But the looks I got while walking around the hospital with her were funny to say the least. The reason prices and such are so much is because you shut down a stout economy during a pandemic and paying pendejos to stay at home. Come to coal-cracking country here in PA where the 'hofties' congregate at the Walmarts and morons go to the Dunkin Donuts to do business with their lawyers! nepascene.com/2016/10/video-comedy-central-show-tosh-0-names-shamokin-shithole-week/

WOW... "meet with my Lawyers in Duncan Donuts" .. residents left devasted ! LOL...
RE: Walmart Not sure if its me... but it seemed that the sizes of clothing were supersized as well. It seemed that what they called a Medium was actually a Large, by any normal standard. Bought small sized shirts LOL,, and I have a 44 in chest

That's why I'm out come retirement. Actually looking into working 3 months here and then bye bye for 9. This place is a dump, for other reasons Colombia is too but at least it's cheaper.
Soon I'll be charged by EZ pass just to drive in NYC. That's nuts. This place needs an asteroid badly.

Mostly well off or 'poor' people live in NY. The rich Uber it all over the place meanwhile the middle class that got priced out now have to pay to go back for work. I have to drive in for work everyday and there's no logisitcal way to take public transpo. There aren't any more actual NYers in the cityanymore except unfortunately the projects.

Continuing the theme of this thread, Mrs Daluz and I just returned from a 30 visit to the States visiting family and friends in Florida, Alabama and Texas.
Agree with you all on the amount of fat folks, all cruising the stores in their motor assisted chairs and also surprised on the amount of "support dogs" all over the place.
We rented a car for our trip and I have to admit I forgot how pleasant it is to drive the state and county highways. We avoided the interstates and/or toll roads and wow, driving was relaxing and fun again!
Flights were pretty normal, Bogota to the States/States to Bogota being a frenzied chaos as each Colombian jockeyed for position to get on and off the flights for overhead bag space, or to be one or two people ahead in the lines for immigration. However on the stateside flights, was surprised how civil everyone was waiting turns and so on. We flew United if that mattered.
If there was a bump in our travel it was the grumpy Colombian customs dude. Being allowed $10k in cash, we brought $8k just to be on the safe side. When grumpy asked how much cash we had, we told him, but he suggested we were lying so off to secondary we go.
No big deal, we were under the limits and had all banking receipts but still, Grumpy didn't seem satisfied.
Asked why we need this amount of cash and we explain it is for our house remodel. He asks if we can prove it. We invited him to drop by the house and lend a hand as there is a bunch of work to do. Grumpy did not appear amused and sent us on our way.
No drama I suppose but a bunch of paperwork which is never a good thing. So we'll see if some over eager tax guy calls. Maybe if they do come over to investigate further they can lend a hand knocking down some walls!
As always, be well!

Forgot about the retarded 'support animals'. Just like the ridiculous latinas with dogs in baby carraiges.
