So I’m thinking of taking about 4-5 days to go Scuba diving. I’ve already gone diving in Taganga and Barú and would like to get somewhere else. I’m considering both San Andrés/Providencia and Aruba. I already dove once in San Andrés which was nice but I’ve never been to Providencia. Down side of San Andrés is that I found it kind of boring aside from the diving and I can only imagine that Providencia is even more boring.
Any recommendations on fun things to do in San Andrés / Providencia ?
Aruba doesn’t have nice corals but they have ship wrecks and it looks like more for fun at night.

The beaches are nice in Aruba and the water very nice and clear, but not much of a diving destination as its mostly sandy bottoms, and the ship wrecks are uninspiring. Have you looked at Curacao? The diving is much better in Curacao than in Aruba. The night life (in my opinion) in Aruba is not that great-Aruba is a nice place to just chill and enjoy the beach if that is your thing.

I always liked diving in the Pacific. Everything is big there.

Aruba is windy, exspensive, bring lots of $US.The snorkeling was ok,nothing to write home about.Make reservations for better restaurants before you go,same for car rentals. My wife loved Aruba I wish I could take her back.

I just noticed you spelt Providencia with b larga;locals call it Old Providence. The island is totally different from SA,less populated and basically like time had stood still.Laidback best describes it,fewer Latino tourists, not overdevoloped. My pick for diving and snorkeling, the only drawback is the cost of getting there,45 min plane ride is relatively expensive.Catameran is about half the price but takes you a couple of hours,in rough seas it's a puke cruise.

I think you should go to Aruba. You would indeed be very bored in Isla Providencia,

Old Providence is cool, sometimes boring is a good thing, besides good diving you can do timed laps around the Island on your scooter.Aruba on the other hand is super exspensive and full of smokey casinos.
