The area above Parque lleras has a ton of small restaurants - Provenza (?) sector - how many are good hard to tell - but very lively Friday and Saturday night.
If you want good Colombian food at a good price try Bartolo's on the parque in Envigado and Viejo's Johns just off the Parque in Sabaneta, also Picnic in Sabaneta has great lasagna( hole in the wall place but they have a FB page) and Pizza Llena in Sabaneta is pretty good.
Close to Poblado but actually in Envigado is a sector called San Marcos - as you travel on Ave Poblado to Envigado - just before Envigado there is a Esso station on the right - behind it is a 2 block area with a number of different restaurants - a bit upscale for Envigado.
If you ever get to Laurels sector - try INKA - good Peruvian food, and in most of the higher end areas there are Crepes y Waffles - pretty good crepes and good ice cream.

There are a number of decent, reasonably-priced restaurants. Starting in Poblado in Parque Lleras: Basilica and Al Rojo restaurants offer a varied menu, and both have afternoon specials with 20% - 30% discounts on menu items. Al Rojo is more oriented towards Italian fare, and both places offer pretty decent beef (including Angus). They offer half and full plates. If you ordered an "entero" make sure it is entero. Basilica tried to short-change me once. Toscano is very good Italian restaurant in Provenza. Further on down the street, cehck out Peru Mix on Calle 10. Seafood is not as good as in Lima, but it will pass muster. As someone else suggested, check out Calle de Buena Mesa in Barrio Manila (Cra 43B) & Calle 10. You'll find a couple of excellent Spanish restaurants (El Payes), seafood (Frutas del Mar), German (Aleman Pues), Pizza (Olivia) and a hamburger place (I think it is a Barbacoa now). Go south on Avenida Poblado and enter Envigado where you will find another Calle de Buena Mesa on CL 30 Sur. My favorite spots there are Black Pepper Steakhouse, Hamburguesa Barbacoa, Vino y Carbon steakhouse, Madrid Bakery and yet another Olivia Pizza place. If you go even further south, try out Viejo Jhon (in Parque Sabaneta), Pizza en Lena (Cra 46 Sabaneta) and Mamasanta Parilla (on Avenida Las Vegas in Sabaneta). I've only scratched the surface... there are plenty more to choose from.

bogota is definitely the place to be if you want real, multi-cultural cuisine.

Thanks makopp5, I just moved to town and the dust is beginning to settle so I'm starting a list of restaurants to try and your recommendations are greatly appreciated. Exactly the kind of resources I'm looking for. Kudos.
