An amiga of mine is moving from NJ back to Salento (on 9/11 of all days) with her husband from DR. Covid took her father and a few aunts so she prefers more time around family now.
She has a property and will run 2 others, renting out rooms for tourists so I guess they'll be OK. I haven't been to Colombia in about 4 years so maybe you guys will know if it's a good idea or not due to the economy there. I feel they'll be back in a year but what do I know?

I was out of Colombia for about 3 years. The costs have risen a lot. It doesn't affect me because the dollar has gone up as much or more to offset the inflation. But if your living on pesos its much more expensive.

búfalo, I don't think you are missing much. I took the wife back for the first time since 2019. After spending 14 months in the hospital in 20~21 when we went back this year she said that she doesn't want to return again. Maybe to visit her primo in Monteria but that is it. Me, I didn't want to go in the first place but felt I owed it to her after all the time she spent in the Big G!

Yeah, I hear you guys. I still have a lot of friends there but no great desire to go back anytime soon.
Once thought to work 3 months stateside, 3 months live in Colombia, etc. but not so much anymore.
