Great. It's about time that this energy-wasting nation got their gas prices up the the level of other countries. and venezuela??? before idiots chavez and maduro??? gas was less than $1 for a gallon lol Just because you have supplies of fuel does not mean that you should give it away. The world has limited reserves of oil and burning it in appallingly inefficient motor vehicles produces masses of pollution and global warming. Intelligent countries impose high taxes to help pay for all the wastes, and in a very short time we will all be forced to use only natural resources. I was working in Venezuela in the 1980s and paid for fuel with pocket change. It did nothing to improve their economy.

You would think that it would be cheaper because CA has those 'vapor recovery' hoses at every gas station. Refineries nearby but like mudd says it is lining for the pockets of the pols!

Many European countries are paying very much more per litre. I'm sorry that your politicians have such huge pockets.

Biden Mass Spending Sparks WARNING Of Hyperinflation And Looming Market Crash, Gas Prices SKYROCKET His predecessor was no fiscal conservative, nor a free market capitalist. TRump is actually more like the Crony Capitalist, protectionist popularist Juan Peron than Ronald Reagan or Margaret Thatcher. Actually in many aspects -crony capitalism, tarrifs and protectionism-similar to Biden, other than the WOKE Progressive extremism. Bloated the debt even before COVID..and was in favor of giving $2000 a month "helicopter money" to everyone. But looks like mass spending and money printing has taken off to an even greater level under Biden and his progressive masters.

The scariest word in my vocabulary right now is INFLATION. The COVID pandemic has upset the US (and WORLD) economy drastically. The response of the US federal government to this pandemic has been to hand out free money (stimulus) to everyone to the tune of several TRILLION dollars. Maybe this was the only way to keep the US economy from going down in flames, but once you give EVERYONE free money, they just want more and more. Gone is the incentive to work and earn a living when you can get the feds to give it to you for free.
The internet has brought about changes in the general public's perception of the state of things that has been a long time coming. The average person is much more informed then ever before. When young people look at the political processes in the USA, it's no wonder that they are disallusioned. The presidential primaries are a joke. Look at who the US voters had to choose from in the past two elections:Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump, and Joe Biden: A crook, a non-politician, and an over the hill loser. Pretty slim pickins'. So they elected the non-pol over the crook and look what they got. An inexperienced loud mouth who thought he could BS his way out of everything. Now ... we have an out of touch pedo who needs to be in a retirement home.
My concern is that Biden's out of control spending will bring about a wave of double-digit inflation not seen since the Carter administration. I hope that living outside the US in a country where the cost of living is much less will help us weather the storm. IF inflation in the US does go out of control, then hopefully my social security will bump up enough to compensate. I doubt it, but I can always hope.

The underestimation of inflation is underway by the media. This is the naritive being pushed by the administration because if the real inflation numbers were known they would need to pay out massive amounts of money in Social Security inflation adjustments. While fuel, lumber and medical are all up significantly I see they are trying to claim it will only be up about 4% this year and its only a temporary jump. While I never thought of it as an option, there was always the possibility I could move back to the US to live. If the inflation due to printing money continues I will not be able to afford to live in the US. At this point I am just wondering how bad the Dems can wreck the US economy in 2 to 4 years. Hopefully in 2 years they will loose the house and senate and at least things will be frozen in place rather than getting worse. The problem is the republicans like to spend just as bad as the democrats and I can see them dealing on pet projects between the two and things even getting worse in 2 years.
