It has done an awful job only 700k test and it is now in the top 20 in cases and moving up that list fast. The US has done 34 million test and if Colombia had any kind of adequate testing long with rest of South America it would be at the the top of the list along with its neighbors. I laugh every time I hear the moron president bragging about how well colombia has done is anyone in the country able to use statistics?

www.eltiempo.com/bogota/coronavirus-cuanto-le-falta-a-bogota-en-ocupacion-uci-para-llegar-a-alerta-roja-512540They are looking at ICU beds available and that is the only thing that counts. The number of tests means nothing. You get near to full occupancy, you lock down the area. Simple as that. In that respect the USA are doing a worse job than many. The virus cannot be stopped and we need to learn to live with it, same as when we did not have the antibiotics or the multitude of vaccines that our kids get nowadays. Social distancing, masks when needed and just be thankful it is nothing like Ebola or the Spanish Flu. They will soon determine that mortality is lower than they thought. I don't even think that we will have (or need) a vaccine. I have more faith that they will learn a decent procedure to cure the people. About the testing, since you seem to be a fan, Colombia did more testing than Mexico, Brasil, Ecuador, Argentina, Bolivia, and some more. Not too bad considering it is a third world country. Finally, politicians talk shit most of the time, Trump does not seem to have his brain always connected to his tongue either.

Its not even close to enough and the response to the virus is a joke and opening up for a tax free day was stupid. Lets wait and see i say Colombia is not even close to the peak and things get much worse for not only Colombia but the rest of South America between now and September. I compare Apples to Apples total test and cases and if you take the testing in South America almost non existent except for Brazil which has done 1/10 of the US total number and South America and Colombia are way below par and have their heads buried in the sand. I say shut it down before you have the problem that's coming if they try to keep it open. Best of luck

Robbie, you need to compare number of test per million of people of course. Example: Mexico 1,712 and Colombia 1,868. Also quality of tests matters, as an example in Venezuela they are using a lot of those fast cheap tests. But I don't look anymore at number of test or infected as it does not make sense or change a thing. Available beds do.
Yes, the tax free day was a dumb thing to do.
Robbie, Colombia is a third world country filled with corrupted politicians and inhabited by monkeys. I am not disappointed by what they are doing, it was expected. Frankly they are doing better than the disaster that I was contemplating.
I am surprised by the response to the pandemic in the USA, I never anticipated that chaos. It made it look as a third world country, especially the loathing criminality. Wtf is happening to you people?

The US virus expert Fauci predicts 100.000 new infections per day. That would amount to 5000 death a day (5% world average). So it doesn't look all that good for the US. Why anyone would predict such a gloomy outlook and condemn Colombia which is in the middle of a lockdown - and has high hopes for the States where beaches are packed and streets are crowded with demonstrators is beyond me. Maybe the States aren't any better off than Brazil these days. And if Trump doesn't keep his mouth shut and watches what he twitters he may even lose the election and Biden, Kamala Harris and Pelosi will run your country and tear down the rest of the historic monuments. They may even replace your flag and change your national anthem. And any name that has any connection with slavery will be erased, the same goes for the mass murderer Christopher Columbus. Americans have no idea what they're in for. www.irishcentral.com/roots/history/columbus-mass-killer-slave-trade

I could careless what goes on in the USA to be honest as far as the election goes I'll root for Trump because it helps the market if he loses I'll still make money shorting the result and I said months ago if Trump opens back up to soon it will probably cost him the election. I don't give a shit about Black lives matters don't commit crime don't resist and you wont have a problem. My point is Colombia f***ed up and the numbers will rise again now that the weekend and Holiday Monday are over. The idea Colombia managed the virus well is fantasy it is already top 20 in cases and climbing fast it was just more Bullshit. Fauci, may be right about what's to come. As for Colombia it better hope the US, Europe and China remain open if not oil will be at 14 and the peso will be 4500 if not 5000. You guys fail to understand what ever happens in the USA is magnified around the world. It's lonely at the top. The USA has a reason to try and open its called the global economy Colombia is just making mistakes and nobody would know it shuttered down for years.

Also, it seems the social distance is 1 meter. I am afraid that you are grossly wrong! Far from nonsense, removing and cleaning your shoes makes very good sense and lots of families do it. That is exactly what you do when you enter a shopping centre, walking over a disinfected foot mat. The social distance is always a compromise but it makes no sense to reduce it when we are all suffering many new infections.

Americans have no idea what they're in for. www.irishcentral.com/roots/history/columbus-mass-killer-slave-trade Cases in the US are going down again. Death rates have remained fairly consistent. Forget about people's predictions and opinions and simply follow the charts:
With the economy reopening, everyone expected the cases to increase again, but it's not even close to being overwhelming. What's the alternative? Lock down the US (and the economy) until a vaccine is found? I don't believe a vaccine will ever be found - but there will be treatments. Need to learn to live with it - wear masks in public if we need to. That's a small price to pay for freedom and rights.

Using your site half the cases worldwide have recovered from the virus (for how many their state of health is permanently affected is an other question).
In Colombia 42% of cases have recovered.
In the US a mere 30% have recovered
Now compare with their former enemies Germany and Japan with 91% and 88% recoveries. Annoying isn't it?

Since you are obviously unaware of the difference, may I remind you that nobody ever died from getting dog shit, drunk vomit or urine on their shoes!
And like all Japanese households, many people here do change their shoes when they come in off the street.

Democrat news media will say anything to stop Trump from getting reelected. Now they are pulling the doomsday predictors out of the woodwork.
On the other hand a weak market will give us a strong dollar and a good exchange rate.
