The virus won't go away, not before it took it's toll, but infections and fatalities will be mainly in poor barrios, like in Bogotá, the UK and in Brazil. So far the lock-down has worked but if restrictions are relaxed too soon the virus will rear it's ugly head again.

They are already lifting restrictions to early All of South America has huge numbers and some people here think colombia will be different and that they get paid to report false cases if they was the case the numbers would be huge already. Here is nothing colombia can do now but wait to become the next Brasil look at the cases and deaths rising every day now they opened the economy and it will take off like a wild fire

Looks awful at the rate covid19 is increasing Colombia is in big trouble. If they actually try to keep the economy open and allow domestic travel to start back up in it will be just like Brazil come September www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/colombia/

Even an order of magnitude increase to 750 doesn't get it anywhere close to the US peak of rona deaths per day.

No matter how long they wait to open things up ... today, next week, next month, whenever. The number of cases is going to spike. What those in charge have learned is that the virus is not as deadly as was first thought. So to keep the economy from totally crashing, it's time to open things up and tough it out. There will be more deaths. Mostly from persons with other existing conditions. To those persons who feel the quarantine should continue, I say "stay inside and hide." You will have to come out eventually, and if you get the virus when you do come out, you're only delaying the inevitable. Me ... I'm willing to take my chances. I'll continue to wash my hands, and wear a mask, and do whatever I can to stay safe. But the time for the quarantine is over. - JAMES

What is happening in Colombia is the same as in many other countries: the majority of new cases confirmed in just a few areas.
Medellin and the surrounding areas responded well to the initial lockdown and have just a handful of cases.
Here in Manizales there have been few infected and the lockdown has been easing for some weeks. Almost all the shops are open (although most serve from a counter at the front door to customers in the street), opening hours are almost back to normal and people can go out 3 days a week.
I believe that this localized relaxation will continue, leaving the worst offenders still in lockdown for a long time.

Another 2000 plus case day and 60 deaths yup colombia will have a million infected and if they allow travel between cities Medellin will have tons infected as well good luck when the hospitals fill up. Mean time “The Dirty Jersey” is open for business and now not allowing payasos from the southern states to visit. stay safe if you have a health condition I wouldn’t count on colombian hospitals.

Colombian numbers are really low for now. Starting with the number of tests that they have done.

The median age in Colombia is about 30 years. Anyone who has more than a 3rd grade education can figure out Colombians infected will have a much better outcome than let's say New Jersey where the median age is about 40. In addition you add in the obesity and sedentary lifestyle of the avg New Jersey resident and all the fat arses sitting in their recliners watching 2 TV's at their virtual no show union jobs and well not much else to say.
Anyway Colombians relatively young median age will prove to be a substantial benefit in dealing with Coronavirus.. So many cases here in Colombia will be with very mild symptoms and quick recoveries.
no need for panty wadding..
