I want to go to Florian and see the waterfalls. It is an 8 or 10 hour drive from here, but still in Santander.
There are only 40 cases in this department of 2 million , supposedly most of them recovered of , yet still waiting for "permission" to leave the city.
The virus is basicaly "non existant" here.
I want to spend my money on transportation and hotel and tourist guide there. Get some foreign capital into the hands of people who desperately need it.
Basicaly the stupid government with the Rico corrupt politicos would prefer to let these people starve, and me leave my money to my rich (by Colombian standards) nephews.

Nothing fake about it. Tell me when it is announced tomorrow it’s fake. Trust me the numbers are rising at over 1000 a day now hospitals are over 85 percent filled they Are worried the hospitals will collapse in the next few weeks and the quarantine will be extended.

For "Orange Areas " only in Bogota Here there are 58 cases in a department of 2 million, and 40 cases have recovered. You probably have more cases on the block where you live Robbie.

Depends how you look at it. There is a quarantine everywhere in the world if they require social distancing and dont allow sporting events, and discoteques etc.
We wont be back to "Normal" anywhere in the world for a year.
43 exceptions now.Lots of people in the street. Traffic like normal.
Hoping they will let travel outside of the cities soon

About the only thing they seem to be enforcing here now is the curfew and masks. People are working. A lot of businesses are reopening. We are still Red.. now but June 3 our province is supposed to go yellow. I think at that point the only thing will change is the curfew moved back from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Today I am going to take my first obvious road run since this started. If the police stop me "voy al mercad en Arenalies" Thats 5k away.. LOL The mask around my neck will be a pain though...

rules are pretty relaxed here in medlelin now, see many two on a moto, and you know both dont have the same pico cedula #. most business open except hotels, hostels, walk in restaurants, discos/ bars ect. even an outside gym here thats not supposed to be open, the police dont bother with it when their are 8 plus gringos using it.
i do see after 7, nobody on the street, or very few cars. thats about the only rule being followed here.

Life is pretty much close to normal now in Sydney. We have been very lucky in Australia. There has been economic carnage and we will see massive social ramifications in the coming months. Many people have lost their jobs. Will lose their houses, small business closures etc... Future generations will be paying the govt debt. Will likely have a recession possible depression.
Australia currently has 488 active cases, 4 in serious condition and 103 deaths. Which I am embarrassed to say knowing what people are going through in many other parts of the world all because they were born under different stars.

ozgringo:
I would not just say that you had been very lucky where you are.
Like in nearby New Zealand, the majority of the population seem to have heeded the government's advice from the start and thus avoided major infections.

I have been running 5 days a week minimum..for well over amonth. My taxisata takes me to this road above Pie de Cuesta (subourb of Bucaramanga, like Sabanata in Medellin). 2 hours a day every day becomes legal Monday, though I know there are políticos in the Alcalde that write the rules, but have been breaking them for a month as well. Apparently. no police stops at all for COVID. Just to much traffic to be stopping people.

The economy will take a hit everywhere, and anybody that works in the private sector who or who has been disciplined and saved their whole lives, will now pay for the deadbeats and loafers.

Anybody who is not broke is lucky, but as OZ says, we wil all be taking a hit in our income sooner or later.
