I didnt read the article yet, (so i probably should hold my comment) but my initial thought was Maduro had a couple overweight expat gringos arrested and claimed they were mercenaries. If this is the case he better thing twice and release them as this just gives the military an excuse to go into Venezuela to rescue them. Of course that would probably be the best outcome for Venezuela. I just wouldn't want to see any of our military killed or injured in such an exercise.

Maybe this was meant to be a miniature 'Bay of Pigs' invasion. But it sure wasn't well thought out, what were they expecting with a government on edge like Maduro's.

Seems they were after the $15 million bounty. There were about 100 Guaidó supporters ready to help them capture Maduro. What went wrong was one or several of those 100 Guaidó supporters were supporters of Maduro, so Maduro's men were waiting for them long in advance.

Your not going to run any covert operation using any Venezuelans. Many of the people remaining in the country now support the government. Most of the very anti Maduro people left the country years ago. I still wonder how they thought they were going to get Maduro to the airport.
Myself I wouldn't waste my time trying to capture him. Just send a half dozen snipers and have them set up in different locations where Maduro occasionally shows up then wait. With some snipers able to make mile shots you would think it would just be a matter of time before someone gets the opportunity to drill him.

scumbuster said: I'm with you on this scum. Maburro has to be one of the most paranoid men walking! Look how they were able to get Bin Laden once they knew where he was. Cripes I think a couple of well-determined secarios from Colombia could dust him off without so much as a grunt! The one thing I wonder about this is if these guys were bait. They were able to smoke-out any non-Guaidó supporters which proves he has wolves in sheep's clothing. But what kind of an 'reel-them-in' strategy awaits them?

If they were like the Sicarios I saw they wouldnt be in any better shape than these mercenaries..probably target any old fat guy with a mustache and get captured or shot themselves
