I like how the president pointed out the fact that NYC actually has more bed space than they need! Because everyone is in a supposed state of lock-down, you don't have the collisions on the parkways that you normally have. I'm kind of curious how the crime rate is doing.

USA on the other hand got it's first case on January 20, we still had experts saying not to worry about it, the flu was worse (Fauci I'm looking at you). I'm getting a little tired of hearing how "Colombia has handled it so much better than the USA" well no shit they had 7 more weeks to observe and analyse what worked with other countries, and see how serious it actually is.

NJ is a 3rd world country.. The situation is much worse in NJ than they are portraying.. In addition the US government lied about the benefits of wearing a mask and a 6 foot social distance is a load of crap. A couple of more 3 trillion dollar deals and the US economy will really be in the crapper. In the not too distant future look for a lack luster econony, but I hope you have an V recovery emotionally.. www.nj.com/coronavirus/2020/04/nj-coronavirus-death-toll-spikes-to-846-with-34124-total-cases-200-new-deaths-and-4331-cases-reported-by-gov-murphy.htmlThe 1st Coronavirus case in NJ -March 4th. The first Coronavirus case in Colombia -March 6th. In Colombia I went online and ordered as many 3M N95 masks as I wanted from Homecenter. In the US they are now telling people to use a scarf or other homemade masks- Trump even said they are better than real masks-WTF. I love the US but it doesn't get more 3rd world than this crap...

Is NJ going to be a major disaster-yup.. Now poor Robbie needs an exchange rate of 5000 pesos to the dollar and to buy 10 cents on the dollar to buy a modest apartment in Poblado. I told him not to use that Robinhood platform for amatures.. But he keeps posting how much money he has-too funny.. If you really have money is there any reason to keep telling everyone? I guess to make up for other shortcomings..

Stay safe and remember it’s .10c on the dollar for the rest of 2020? I’m sure all the rentals are 100 percent occupied and realty is up 30 percent Jajajaja.

to be honest, nobody knows when the first cases hit the US because china was lying about it. i bet many had it and didnt even know it and were walking around and spreading it. new york has nobody to blame but themselves. after they knew it was going to be a problem, they were still walking around like no big deal, sort of like the idiots in florida. i think trump did a ok job with the info he was being told by china and WHO, unfortunately, china was lying through their teeth and the WHO does what china says, sort of like the WTO, hard lesson to learn.
i watched the presidents briefing a few days ago, on two different channels, CNN and Bloomberg. CNN cut out ALOT of the briefing and only played the parts they wanted people to see, lot of " copy and paste" bloomberg played the whole briefing.
as for colombia, i would have stopped flights from returning from US EU and other places a week before. their cases are low here , but as more dont follow the lockdown, its starting to go up. as this morning it sup to 2223

Colombia screwed up big time in the very beginning when they let the 19 year old student from Italy roam around freely after her arrival instead of quarantining her and when they let the passengers of a cruise ship from Curacao walk all over Cartagena and it turned out that 5 of them tested positive already in Curacao. That's how the corona virus got started in Colombia. After those disasters the situation was handled perfectly, even though reinforcement of the quarantine must be improved, a problem though in every country.
I predict and I know y'all hate me for it, that the quarantine will last until the end of May. Colombia with it's limited resources has no other choice. Hopefully they can get help from somewhere to feed the hungry.
I'm already doing my part, buying basic food supplies for a couple of my wife's single college friends who have children. My wife as Mother Teresa and I as her banker. lol.

Look at this event they endorsed, getting 1000 people together on March 3! to celebrate the Chinese Lunar New Year. Get a load of the guest list! Many elected officials joined the festivities including Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, Deputy Secretary for Civil Rights Johnathan Smith, Attorney General Letitia James, Senator Andrew Gounardes, Senator Brad Hoylman, Senator Brian Kavanagh, Senator Zellnor Myrie, Assembly Member Peter Abbate Jr., Assembly Member William Colton, Assembly Member Catalina Cruz, Assembly Member Ron Kim, Assembly Member Yuh-Line Niou, Assembly Member Nily Rozic, Mayor Bill de Blasio, Deputy Mayor Philip Thompson, Comptroller Scott Stringer, Council Speaker Corey Johnson, Manhattan Borough President Gale Brewer, Acting Queens Borough President Sharon Lee, Council Member Justin Brannan, Council Member Margaret Chin, Council Member Ben Kallos, Council Member Mark Levine, Council Member Keith Powers, Council Member Carlina Rivera, Council Member Helen Rosenthal, Council Member Ydanis Rodriguez, Council Member Mark Treyger, Department for the Aging Commissioner Lorraine Cortés-Vázquez, Department of Citywide Administrative Services Commissioner Lisette Camilo, Department of Small Business Services Commissioner Gregg Bishop, Mayor’s Community Affairs Unit Commissioner Marco Carrión, Mayor's Office of Contract Services Director Daniel Symon, and NYC Census 2020 Director Julie Menin. The celebration's crowd was riveted by the rousing comments from Senator Chuck Schumer and Mayor Bill de Blasio, who addressed recent challenges in the community while painting a picture of a nation and city bound for a better future. "The New Year is a chance for us to move forward," Mayor de Blasio said. "The fire, the loss of so many crucial and beloved institutions was very painful. But we will rebuild." Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer said, "We know our job is to protect people and make them secure, and with the coronavirus it is no different. We won't let the President blame this community or any community. This week I said, Mr. President we need the money, the resources and the back-up to address this. Don't divide us." Also interesting to note one particular name on that list "Comptroller Scott Stringer." His mother recently died of the corona virus, and he went on CNN and said Trump had his mothers blood on his hands. Looks to me like he might be the one with her blood on his hands.

My friends and I are doing our part in Cartagena as well. We've already helped 52 families in one of the poorest barrios with a supply of basic foodstuffs. We'll be doing it at least one more time next week.

You rely dont get it , do You Cali? Good for you helping people, so am I. I am spending way more money buying food and necessities for Colombians (and Venezuelans) I know who are in dire straits, than I do on myself. But 98% of Colombians have NO source of outside income, and are getting really hungry and falling on hard times. I know, I talk to them. A lot of them. Some people have lost a lot of weight already. People wont stand for this much longer in developed countries, let alone in Colombia , or other developing countries. You must remember hunger from your childhood memories, dont you Cali?

Elex, you are using the hunger card so you can roam around like before because you don't know what to do with yourself in the house, it is you who doesn't get it. Trying to get trough to you is like trying to pick up a t..d from the clean end. The great majority of Colombians is used to hardships, they are survivors, they help each other. They can survive on rice, beans, yucca and water for years, many of them did. They would rather eat simple food than have a family member get sick or even die. You still don't understand the culture here. The middle-class has store cards and credit cards, if the run up their cards and are whistling out of the last hole it's no one else's fault. This will be a good lesson for them to manage their money. Wait til people are rebelling, then we'll talk some more about it. Almost the whole world is on lock-down to reverse the trend of new infections, the Chinese city Wuhan was locked down for three months and it worked. A handful of bought and paid scientist presenting certain industrial and touristic lobbies can't stop the quarantines either, no matter how many letters they write to their government.

Good video. Giving money to street vendors in Cartagena.
Lots of people that can have been donating to the poor in Cartagena. The govt have given out 7000 good bags. ( Inflated costs to the tax payer of course.)

Most estrato 3 to 5 people I know dont have ccs.and dont have any savings ..how would you expect them to when Americans who make 5 times as much dont. And not everybpdy has somebody else giving them food I dont run around. I go to a remote location ..with no one in sight and run as hard as I can so I will continue to have strong heart anf lungs so if I do get the HP virus I will survive. This keeping people cooped up like rats is more detrimental in the long term health effects than the stupid virus. And the people passing the virus on to others are the ones that go into those crowded little local supermarkets in el centro and the little towns with little or no controls..or people hanging out in groups in estrato 1 and 2 barrios..not some foriegner running up a remote backcountry road making sure he is a minimum.of 5 metres from everyone else. As far as Colombians actually being able to take no pay and no government handouts beyond April 27th I highly doubt it..but we will see. Personally, if we see some progress by April 27th on case reductions I would be all for going a couple more weeks. But I doubt the locals will go for it without some government aid..and I am skeptical about any progeess on the case count with all the shenanigans going on in Estrato 1 and 2 barrios.

Most estrato 3 to 5 people I know dont have ccs.and dont have any savings ..how would you expect them to when Americans who male 3 times as mich dont. And not everybpdy has somebody else giving them food I dont run around. I go to a remote location ..with no.one in sight and run as hard as I can so I will continue to have strong heart anf lungs so if I do get the HP virus I will survive. This keeping people cooped up like rats is more detrimental.to the long term health effects than the stupid virus. But I doubt the locals will go for it without some government aid All good points too, elex, glad we can have a friendly discussion about this menace.
Just curious, how do you get to the back roads without having to pass several possibly infected people when leaving or going to the apartment?

I haven't had our maid come to the house for almost 2 months now but we have continued to pay her. Unfortunately all her other clients are Colombian and have not been paying her.. She lives in estrato 1 but is surrounded by estrato 2 and 3. She tells us in these areas nobody pays any attention to the lockdown.. Don't know how this doesn't get worse in the coming weeks.
