你好
Nǐ hǎo,here I am straight off the plane from Shanghai where I spent 2 months of my Asian adventure.I lived in Huaqiao Fushan; a gated community in the burbs at the end of Shanghai line 11.
Ok have no fears at this moment I'm holed up in my house,a self imposed quarantine on the heels of my previous 10 day lock down in my girlfriend's home back in Huaqiao.I prefer not to sully the waters with discussions of the coronavirus,I'll leave that topic to the 'other related thread' I will say this many members on here,my family and friends alike have many misconceptions about China, and as well suffer from hysteria created by news reports.
Let me get this rickshaw rolling;my first visit to Shanghai was an eye opener,an ultra modern city with a mix of the old China thrown in.Shanghai is the New York of Asia,a huge metropolis and financial hub fueled by the China's economic boom. The wealth here is staggering, high rise penthouses, glitzy malls and outlet stores displaying the latest luxury brands;Tesla,Porsche,Mercedes, supercars are not uncommon sights.Even with the cities rapid developments there are still glimpses of China's ancient past to be found;Temples and ancient cities built during Ming and Qing Dynasties. The Bund historical district is one of my favorite places to stroll;it has been coined 'the Paris of the Orient'.The Bund or Waitan is a waterfront area in central Shanghai. The area centers on a section of Zhongshan Road within the former Shanghai International Settlement, which runs along the western bank of the Huangpu River in the eastern part of Huangpu District. The view across the river from the promenade is a jaw dropping spectacle; Pudong looks like something straight out of The Jetsons!
Pudong is a district of Shanghai located east of the Huangpu River across from the historic city center of Shanghai in Puxi. The name refers to its historic position as "The East Bank" of the Huangpu River, which flows through central Shanghai, although it is now administered as the Pudong New Area, a state-level new area which extends all the way to the East China Sea.
The traditional area of Pudong is now home to the Lujiazui Finance and Trade Zone and the Shanghai Stock Exchange and many of Shanghai's best-known buildings, such as the Oriental Pearl Tower, the Jin Mao Tower, the Shanghai World Financial Center, and the Shanghai Tower. These modern skyscrapers directly face Puxi's historic Bund, a remnant of former foreign concessions in China.
