So after getting out of the Army I decided I was never going to run again and I gained weight.
Still kept on going to the gym but very little cardio for a while and just mostly weights. Eventually I added rowing to my routine but hit a plateau because of the diet.
About 2 months ago I decided to try Herbalife and I'm pretty happy with the results. The first few weeks I lost some weight but not much because I wasn't hitting the gym and I was travelling which involved business lunches and dinners.
Since adding gym time to the routine I'm really happy with the results, not bad considering it's the holiday season.
I like the community aspect where everyone encourages each other to eat healthy and to snack often but eventually I want to stop buying the shakes/protein powders and start doing the home made versions. Does anyone know of decent shake recipes that are very close to the Herbalife powders and also the tea powder?

It's how I manage to eat/drink the vegetables I don't like. First of all, get a decent blender like a Vitamix. This is an example recipe: 1 banana 1 small handful of frozen blueberries Bunch of kale Bunch of spinach 2-3 tablespoons seeds: chia, sunflower, flax, pumpkin, etc ideally soaked over-night 1 tablespoon of oil: Avocado, olive, grapeseed, etc 1 raw egg, and/or high quality protein powder Add some water, or almond milk. Blend away.
Can also add stuff like grean tea/macha powder, turmeric, ginger, etc.

caliconnection I do likewise. I got a Nutribullet at PriceSmart. Does a great job of grinding up about everything. My wife has even occasionally added a carrot and it completely pulverizes it. No chunks. I dont like chunky smoothies. LOL

As a former fatty I can relate to your struggles. Personally I would never use something like Herbalife or any other fad diet, pill or specialized concocted product.. What will you do-stay on herbalife for ever?? Most people will lose weight and then revert right back to their fatty ways.. Should just change your lifestyle and eating habits to live healthy.. What worked for me to lose weight and keep it off for more than 10 years now has been to simple eat real food. Nothing out of a box, can, or processed type crap. It is actually amazing how much food you can eat and not gain weight if what you're actually eating is actually food.
