He actually has a number of videos on his travels in Colombia - he has been riding from Alaska to Chile , seems to only take back roads and many times no roads at all - carrying his bike. No babes in bikinis no clickbait in the videos - they can be a little slow but the scenery is great - he does a good job editing , interesting to see parts of Colombia I knew nothing about - almost everyone treats him with kindness - and he has a very positive outlook even when dealing with tough physical circumstances.
His Spannish is very good - the dude is from Bulgaria originally I believe, I dont think bad guys hassle him too much - other than the bike and maybe the camera - he looks poorer than them and probably does not smell to great.

Yes he to make it through Mexico all right - Mexico seems to be turning into Colombia from the late 80's - almost a Narco state , I know things get blown out of proportion at times - but it looks like Acapulco is having all sorts of drug/gang problems - not many tourists left - some of the violence is now starting to hit Cancun and other gringo vacation spots . The government trying to cover the problems up makes it worse when the truth comes out - I think they are still looking for the 40 college students who disappeared a few years ago - ( a group of them) killed by a cartel is the thinking but government won't admit it ( they were all Mexicans that disappeared)

We had a group of cyclists from Medellin stop at Termales this weekend. I spoke to several and they said they rode from Medellin to Barbosa and then to Santa Domingo. From SD, the roads are unpaved and rough all the way to Guatape (which is the route they were taking.) From Guatape to Rio Negro, then to the Aeropuerto and down the hill to the Med. They arrived at Termales late yesterday afternoon just before it started to rain hard, and camped overnight. Our camping area looked like it had been invaded by the homeless, but they were all good people and we had a nice time talking with them. They left about 7 am today after having breakfast. It was easy to see that were looking forward to the rest of the ride. Most of them had inexpensive FRS 2-way radios clipped to their handlebars. They had ear-phones, and mikes clipped to their shirt collars to be able to talk while riding and break the boredom.
Those guys (and several girls) had to be in great shape and pretty resilient because most stayed up until after midnight drinking and shootin' the shit. I wish I could run and ride like I used to, but my knees just won't handle it anymore.
