Hopefully, I can post some photos that I took, (with my phone) when I visited the Museo de Oro in the La Candaleria _

Here's the last one. To give you a perspective of the size of that emerald, that is a pair of feet on the left-hand side of the photo!

I had a couple of buddies who dealt in precolombinas;one of my buddies had a galleria in a Los Rosales (Bogota) apartment...it was like a friggen museum in itself.Last I saw him was back in mid 90's he had a couple pounds of gold objects from Sinu,Tayrona,Muisca,Quimbaya;nothing elaborate mostly nose rings, earring and some fine filigree pieces. He bragged about buying them by the gram at prices. One thing that struck my eye was a drilled emerald bead, reputed to be precolumbian.

Yeah, its a good place to visit. Near La Candaleria and The Plaza del Bolivar. Actually the whole area is good for spending a few days worth of investigation.

We're in shutdown phase right now and I am getting ready to do a stretch of nightshifts. If the mood hits me, I'll post some photos from La Quinta del Simon Bolivar, Montserrate, and Museo de Nacional. All were great places in Bogota and I learned a lot about Colombia while there.

I wanted to post them when I was doing the night shift thing but I wound up being busier than a 3-peckered Billy goat!
