Which one or both! Jardin gets my vote, with its cool vibe and nature attractions ex. birding, hiking, horseback riding to view Cueva del Esplendor...a waterfall cascading into a cave.Night time activities take place at the plaza and surrounding bars, drinking beer and watching the pretty Paisa prance around on majestic caballo de paso. Get a room hotelvaldiviaplaza.com/ toward the back for a better sleep. Jerico! a Madre Laura pilgrimage...

I have not been to Jardin but to Jerico- pretty town with nice cool climate - compared to Pintada where I started the trip up the mountain. Nice central square with numerous restaurants for a relaxing meal - don't think it is as big or quite as touristy as Jardin , a little closer to Medellin.
There is a very nice scenic road the winds up the mountain, starts off at the rio and hot to very pleasant in Jardin. There is a back road - actually up the front of the mountain - it heads up from Puente Inglesia - quite the road - or at some points - path - a couple of great waterfalls on the way up and for some reason on old tunnel that is no longer used - kind of spooky actually - I took the moto up it and was not quite sure what I was getting into - it was an interesting adventure - took the paved road back down.

One thing about Jerico; that cathedral bell clangs out the hours all through the night.

One thing about Jerico; that cathedral bell clangs out the hours all through the night. Yup, let's get a BIG HALLELUJAH bro! I attempted to sleep in the hotel near it,full hours were gong shows. Hotel was nice and cheap, 30k/night included a breakfast.I toughed it out another night because la dueña was easy on the eyes. In Jerico there are 16 chapels, 3 churches, 1 sanctuary and 1 Cathedral, so it's a gongfest. The pilgrims and locals take to the bars early in the evenings, like Jardin it sees more visitors on weekends...ringing the Plaza,no rest for the weary in the rooms around there!
