James Ballantine, Dr George Bell and David Octavius Hill drinking an Edinburgh Ale in 1844. Taken by the pioneering Scottish photographers, David Hill and Robert Adamson. It came just five years after the first ever photo of a person was taken. This is the earliest known photo of men drinking beer.
