At least according to Publimetro newssite. www.publimetro.co/estilo-de-vida/destinos-para-encontrar-pareja/lmkpfD!oAu89yDL5OI6/ 1.Península de Barú 2. Puerto Velero (I had no idea of this place!) 3.Taganga 4.El Parque Tayrona 5.Santa Marta In other words, single persons should head to the Carribean coast of Colombia... This listing of places was actually taken from a communication from Happn mobile app. For the ones who don't know, Happn is a geolocalized dating app. It is showing you people that you may have crossed during your day. Their website claims:

I wanted to go to Taganga and Tayrona but after injuring my foot, I didn't think it was a good idea. Santa Marta/El Rodadero is nice but they chase you out of the water and off the beach at 6PM! I wasn't aware of Barú until last year. The GF at the time had made plans for a day trip there when I was in Cartagena last November, but I called everything off after spending an hour with her.

Taganga is a dirty little hole! It was a sleepy little fishing village back in the 60's;once discovered it was converted into a den of iniquity of sorts, full of backpackers in search of a cheap high and low budget hostels.Crime follows this crowd,in the 80's the sound of machine gun fire could be heard.Moving forward the Israelis moved in and their gangs set up shop.

Any town having a Fair or festival is a great place for a single guy to go.

Yup, Taganga is a bunghole now unfortunately. They really chase you off the beach at 6? I don't see how they can enforce that.

@buffalo said: Cop cars and cop boat systematically go up the beach and chase you out of the water. I think you can still walk it but I'm not sure.

wow, that's surprising. Only to the tourists? Reason I ask is that the locals used to do anything they wanted there. Night time skinny dipping, quickie on tje beach, etc. I even used to go with them to the acuarium after closing and swim with the dolphins. Hard to see them closing a beach.

Taganga beach is pretty small and both ends of the beach are cliffy. I went there 4 years ago, and already at that time police was asking people to leave the beach at night. It's a small village, and policemen just need maybe 10 minutes to make their beat. So they're basically pass by the beach every 10 - 15 minutes or so.

Israeli gangs running drugs and a "prostitution ring" was big news back 2012.Locals were pissed and complained to the authorities.I heard the locals arguing with a small group of Israeli men when I passed through there. By the time I returned to Bogota it was front page news. www.eltiempo.com/archivo/documento/CMS-11069801

4 years after, they're still there, still doing their business. One of them had an Interpol warrant against him. I don't know if he finally got arrested. Maybe they got a deal?
